‘cabo de vila’ house by architectural firm spaceworkers has been constructed in order to embrace its surrounding environment. located in bitarães, portugal, the irregular building has been shaped to follow a void which previously existed as a valley. this position establishes an open dialogue with the outside space, providing inhabitants with a fresh perspective of the land.

spaceworkers proposed two concrete slabs with concave sides. this framework is complimented by glass and wood inserts which unroll effortlessly between the two volumes. the construction features a central courtyard at the center of the building, offering a quiet place for reflection and contemplation. all of the rooms are organised around this area, providing a harmonious transition between interior and exterior. the general layout works in accordance to the outside space, using curved walls and a clean minimal aesthetic in keeping with the modernist feel of the dwelling.

Spaceworkers에 의해 지어진 'cabo de vila'는 대지의 조건을 고려하여 주변의 풍경을 포용하는 형태로 계획되어졌다. 포르투갈에 지어진 이 비정형 형태의 빌라는 대지가 가지고있던 형상을 따라 계획되어졌다. 건물은 외부공간과의 관계를 고려함과 동시에 기존풍경에 건물이 드러섬으로안한 영향을 최소화할수있는 방향으로 배치되어졌다. 

Spaceworkers는 두개의 콘크리트 슬라브사이에 유리, 나무를 끼워넣는 방식으로 건물을 제안하고있다.  이 건물의 가장 특색있는 공간은  중정공간이다. 외부공간과 차단시켜 정숙하게 꾸며진 중정은 사색, 명상의 장소로 사용된다. 모든 실들은 외부공간과의 관계를 고려하여  건물의 바깥을 둘러싸는 형태로 계획되어져있다.  'cabo de vila'는 주거건물로서의 모던함을 유지하면서 건물의 곡면형상을 따라 자연스럽게 구성되어져있다.
